Hannah Lo, Youth Jazz Teacher

Hannah Lo was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario and has been dancing since the age of 5 when she was described as an “ energetic & wiggly” child. She was trained in gymnastics, acrobatics, and Jazz alongside Vagonava Ballet where she completed her Russian Ballet Society exams from Grades 1-8. At the same time, performing in various Ballet Productions including, Midsommer’s Night Dream, Vivaldi’s Seasonal Quartet at the NAC and with Ballet Jörgen’s Swan Lake.

Then switching into a competitive stream; she was trained in Jazz Technique, RAD Ballet, Contemporary, Open, Lyrical and Acrobatic Arts; competing all across the province of Ontario as well as being seen in comp showcases and end of year recitals. There, she successfully completed her RAD Intermediate exam in 2020 as well as receiving Distinction for Acrobatic Arts Exams. 

In her classes she has a big emphasis on implementing correct technique, injury prevention, and adapting her teaching style to suit the learning style of her dancers.

Currently, she is in the process of completing an Honours B.A. in Psychology with a concentration in Developmental Psych at Carleton University. All the while, being a part of CUDanceLab in preparation for a year end show!
